FAQs - Reopening of LTR Counters
Appointment Request Form
Q1: Where can I find the Appointment Request form ("ARF")?
A1: You can click on the link at paragraph 5 of our notice dated 30 May 2020 ("Notice") or scan the QR code found in Annex A of the
Notice.
Q2: Do I have to bring along the ARF when I call at SLA?
A2: There is no need to bring a printout of the ARF. You only need to let us know the name of the law firm you represent.
Submission of Hardcopy Documents with Title Documents
Q3: If I fail to submit title document for instruments e-lodged in April 2020 within the stipulated time as stated in the Notice, will the lodgment set be rejected?
A3: No. However, please submit an ARF for the submission of the hardcopy title document as soon as possible as we can only proceed with registration of the instruments upon receipt of the title document.
Q4: How many time slots do you have per day?
A4: Effective 4 June 2020, we have 8 time slots per day for selection in the ARF.
Q5: Can I come in at the selected appointment date and time once I have submitted the ARF?
A5: The appointment is not confirmed until you receive our confirmation notification. You will receive this notification by way of email sent to the email address you have stated in the ARF. Hence, please ensure that the correct email address is provided.
Q6: How will I know that my time slot has been confirmed?
A6: You will be notified via email.
Q7: How many sets can I submit for each appointment?
A7: There is no limit on the number of sets to be submitted. Law firms are advised to submit the hardcopy documents for instruments e-lodged during the whole of the relevant month on the date and time fixed for your appointment.
Q8: Can we send multiple representatives from the same law firm?
A8: You are advised to collate all the hardcopy sets within the same law firm and book one appointment slot to ensure a speedier process.
Q9: Will I be given the time slot that I have selected in the ARF?
A9: As there are limited places within each time slot, you may not get the selected time slot. We will suggest another day, and wherever possible, for the same time slot you have indicated in the ARF you submitted. You may also state alternative date(s)/time slot(s) under "Remarks" to help us fix another slot.
Q10: Can I select multiple time slots in case the preferred time slot is fully booked?
A10: No. You may wish to state the alternative time slots under "Remarks".
Q11: What if I am late or did not turn up for the appointment?
A11: You are advised to be punctual and keep to the approved appointment time as all time slots are likely to be fully booked. To avoid overcrowding, late comers may not be allowed in the Business Centre. If you miss the appointment, you will be required to submit a new ARF.
Q12: Can the representative be someone other than the Requestor?
A12: Entry is granted based on the name of the law firm that has been given the confirmed appointment.
Q13: Can I submit the hardcopy for instruments e-lodged during a period other than that stated in the Notice?
A13: No, unless the instrument nature falls within the exception stated in the
Notice.
Q14: How do I lodge Instruments against a manual HDB Lease?
A14: An ARF is to be submitted online for an appointment to lodge the instruments. You may state the HDB lease number under "Remarks".
Q15: I have indicated the wrong number of sets to be submitted. Can I submit additional sets?
A15: We will accept the additional sets if they are submitted within the approved appointment time and date.
Q16: Who should be the requestor?
A16: The requestor and the contact details should be a representative of the law firm who is authorised by the law firm to make an appointment with SLA for the purpose stated in the ARF.
Submission of Hardcopy Documents with No Title Documents
Q17: Do I need to make an appointment for submission of hardcopy documents with no title document?
A17: You do not need an appointment as such documents are to be placed in the designated drop-off boxes. Please see paragraphs 8 and 9 of the
Notice for the requirements of the submission and location of the drop-off boxes.
Q18: Can I drop off the hardcopy for instruments e-lodged in the months other than those stipulated in the latest notice?
A18: Between now and 19 June 2020, we seek your cooperation to drop off only documents that were e-lodged in May 2020. This will help us to process the lodgments in an orderly manner.
